Read on to find out more about Bristol Drones Building and Roof Inspection Services and why we are the best option for your next survey.

Benefits of drone building inspection & surveys

There are many reasons why using drones is starting to become more popular for building and roof inspection. Here are some of the main benefits:

  • One of the main reasons for using drones for roof inspection is the safety aspect. Using drones is a much safer way to inspect roofs, rather than sending an individual to work at height for an extended period of time — which normally includes a risk of falling and climbing on a damaged roof.
  • It’s a quick and efficient method of inspecting and measuring roofs — drones are perfect for saving the time that it would take someone to get up on the roof and manually inspect — which can also be delayed or extended due to weather conditions. The majority of drone inspection jobs can be done in less than an hour.
  • Drone inspection is much more cost-effective than having to hire a cherry picker or erecting more traditional scaffolding. Head over to our prices page for more information on quotations and consultations.
  • Despite inspecting from a distance, aerial drone surveys are incredibly accurate (measurements are 99.4% accurate) and can generate comprehensive and high-precision roof reports. Detailed 3D models can also be created from the drone footage.

Building surveys

Bristol Drone Services can be used for a variety of different jobs, such as building surveys across the South West.

You can use a drone to conduct an aerial survey for a number of building types, such as houses, churches, industrial sites, schools, public buildings and more.

The survey will inspect all visible and accessible parts of your building’s exterior, including roofs, chimneys, walls, windows, and even things like church spires. Additionally, we can carry out thermal inspections to provide invaluable information to surveyors.

Using drones to conduct building surveys is quick, cost-effective and safe. If you would like to carry out a building survey using one of our drones, get in touch with Bristol Drones here and we can arrange a consultation free of charge (and without obligation). You’ll find that the drone survey cost is very reasonable in comparison to all other options.

Drone roof inspection

Bristol Drones also provides extensive drone roof surveys and inspections throughout Bristol, Bath Swindon and Cirencester.

We have years of experience of conducting roof inspections, whether this is for domestic buildings, commercial sites, churches or more.

Drone roof surveys are extremely thorough and cost-effective; our drones can see much more in an hour than a manual inspection could find in a day. Not only does this save your project a substantial amount of money, but it’s also a very safe alternative to manual roof inspections, which normally entail an individual having to climb onto the roof — which can often be very steep, dangerous or damaged.

In particular, aerial surveys are great at inspecting hard-to-reach areas; using the DJI Matrice 210, we have the capability to take images of small cracks from a distance of over 50 metres away.

Roof inspection cost tends to be very reasonable: head over to our prices page to find out more.

3D modelling from building & roof inspection

Bristol Drone building and roof surveys can be used to produce 3D models too.

That’s because we use the latest and best commercial drone available, including the Matrice 210, Matrice 600, Inspire 2 and Mavic 2 Pro. This allows us to capture lots of detail with very high precision, which can then be used to create detailed 3D models.

This 3D modelling aspect is a huge asset to surveyors, architects, and designers who can use the data to track progress for visualisation purposes, upload and edit in computer-aided design, or to provide accurate measurements — without even having to be at the site.

Who can use drone building and roof inspections?

Drones can be used across a variety of sectors for domestic, public, commercial, or industrial use.

This means that aerial drone surveys can be conducted for various building types, such as houses, churches, schools, industrial sites, public buildings and more.

FAQs
We’ve answered a few frequently asked questions about drone building and roof inspection below.
How far can your drones see?
Our workhorse drone, the Matrice 210 with Z30 camera, can carry out inspections and surveys from over 50 metres away. The advanced technology that the drone uses can even capture tiny details (like small cracks in a chimney) from this distance.
Are drone roof surveys accurate?
Absolutely. We’re proud to say that due to the high-quality drones that we use, our roof measurements are 99.4% accurate — keeping any measurement mistakes to a minimum.
Is building and roof inspection with drones dangerous?
Building and roof inspection with drones is completely safe. It’s a very reliable alternative to manual roof inspections, which can be undertaken by individuals when the conditions are dangerous and risky — which could result in fall-related injuries and worse. A drone aerial survey is a much safer option.
Can your drones fly in any weather conditions?
Our drones are pretty sturdy and can fly up to a maximum wind speed of 27mph. Heavy rain may be an issue but we will always do our best to accommodate you and the project whatever weather conditions we encounter.

If you still have some questions that you feel like we haven’t answered on this page or the FAQs above, you can get hold of the Bristol Drones team whenever you like. We’re happy to answer any queries that you have.
