FAQs

What is a drone?

A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle that is remotely-controlled by a pilot. They can be used for a variety of functions, from commercial reasons such as construction sites to non-commercial purposes such as recording social events.

Are your drones insured?

Every drone in the Bristol Drones fleet is 100% insured, with public liability cover up to £10 million. Our drones are piloted by highly trained and fully-insured pilots with several years’ experience.

Can your drones fly in wet or windy weather?

Bristol Drones’ fleet cannot operate in high winds or heavy rain. A few of our drones can operate in light rain and winds up to 27mph. However, flying in such conditions increases the chance of raindrops appearing on the camera lenses.

Can your drones fly at night?

Each Bristol Drones pilot is fully-certified and trained to operate drones at night. We use dedicated drones that are specially equipped with the best night-time camera technology available. This ensures all our shots are as crystal clear and high-definition as possible.

How long can your drones fly for?

Each drone in the Bristol Drones fleet can operate for a maximum of half an hour (30 mins)  in standard conditions on a single battery charge. We also pack sufficient spare batteries so we can operate for a full day’s shoot.
